Hanergy Documentation¶
Welcome to the official documentation for Hanergy — smart solar surplus energy management for Home Assistant.
Hanergy is a Home Assistant add-on that automatically routes excess solar (or wind) production to your household devices. It uses a straightforward priority cascade: the highest-priority load receives surplus first, then the next, and so on. When surplus drops, loads shed in reverse order. No cost functions, no day-ahead forecasts, no solver — just a clear, inspectable list of priorities.

Feature Highlights¶
- Priority-based surplus allocation — define an ordered list of loads and the engine works through them top-to-bottom on every evaluation cycle, allocating surplus where it matters most.
- Three load types — Dynamic loads accept an adjustable setpoint (EV charge rate, heat pump temperature), Fixed loads switch on and off, and Deferred loads wait for a user trigger before consuming surplus.
- Anti-cycling protection — configurable minimum on-time and off-time per load prevents rapid switching that can damage compressor-based equipment.
- Real-time dashboard — live energy flow visualization with a decision timeline showing every action the engine takes and the reason behind it.
