Installation¶
This page covers installing Hanergy as a Home Assistant add-on. For standalone Docker deployment, see Docker.
Requires HA OS or HA Supervised
The add-on installation method requires Home Assistant OS or Home Assistant Supervised. If you run Home Assistant Core or Home Assistant Container, use the Docker deployment instead.
Step 1 — Add the Hanergy Repository¶
- In Home Assistant, navigate to Settings > Add-ons.
- Click the Add-on Store button in the bottom-right corner.
- Click the ⋮ (three-dot menu) in the top-right and choose Repositories.
-
Paste the following URL and click Add:
-
Close the dialog. The store refreshes and Hanergy appears in the list.
Step 2 — Install the Add-on¶
- Find Hanergy in the Add-on Store and click it.
- Click Install.
The installation downloads the container image. This may take a minute or two on slower hardware.
Step 3 — Configure Startup Options¶
On the Hanergy add-on page:
- Switch to the Info tab.
- Enable Show in sidebar so the Hanergy UI appears as a sidebar item.
- Optionally enable Start on boot (recommended once initial setup is complete).
Tip
Enabling "Start on boot" ensures Hanergy resumes managing your loads automatically after a Home Assistant restart.
Step 4 — Start the Add-on¶
- Click Start. After a few seconds the status changes to Running.
- Click Open Web UI or select Hanergy from the sidebar to open the interface.
The first time Hanergy opens, the setup wizard launches automatically.
Troubleshooting Installation¶
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Repository does not appear after adding | HA cache delay | Refresh the Add-on Store page or restart HA |
| Install button is greyed out | Insufficient disk space | Free up space on your HA host |
| Add-on starts but shows "Waiting for HA" | Supervisor API not ready | Wait 30 seconds and refresh; check the add-on logs |
